Rooted in Hope.
Growing Toward Peace.

At The Jeremiah Center, we believe transformation begins with connection — to God, to one another, and to the future we’re building together. From the heart of Nyankunde, DR Congo, our work equips Christian leaders, fosters reconciliation, and creates space for peace to take root. Whether through research, retreats, or the pages of Faith & Society, everything we do is grounded in our calling to restore, renew, and rise.

Our Mission

The Jeremiah Center is a peacebuilding and leadership training initiative rooted in Nyankunde, DR Congo. Founded by Dr. Katho, the center is a response to decades of violence, designed to equip Christian leaders to become agents of reconciliation and renewal in their communities.

What We Do

Farming Initiative

We provide a tractor for sharing, plus farming classes for former rebels who lay down their weapons. The farmers, in turn, provide a portion of their crop to cover maintenance costs.

Campus & Gatherings

Our site in Nyankunde serves as a hub for retreats, conferences, and community-building—offering space for connection, reflection, and spiritual restoration.

Faith & Society Magazine

Our biannual publication explores the intersection of Christian faith, public life, and peacebuilding in the Congolese context.

Research & Reconciliation Projects

We engage in restorative justice work, facilitating research, mediation, and community dialogue to address the wounds of conflict and promote lasting peace.

Why It Matters

After decades of war, displacement, and trauma, the need for local leadership rooted in faith and peace is more urgent than ever. The Jeremiah Center exists to raise up leaders who carry healing into places broken by violence, and to sow peace where fear once lived.

"For two days, we witnessed the transformative power of Christ’s peace as people who might have never imagined sitting together because of ethnic conflicts came alongside each other for laughter, prayers and the breaking of bread."
