Our Work

tri-sprout

The Jeremiah Center for Faith and Society is committed to building a just and peaceful DR Congo. Our mission unfolds through four key areas of work — each rooted in listening, learning, and leading toward reconciliation.

Training Christian Leaders

The Democratic Republic of Congo faces an ongoing crisis in leadership, especially in regions marked by conflict. In response, we established a Center for Christian Leadership to equip courageous men and women to become ambassadors of peace, healing, and transformation. These leaders are trained not only in theological understanding but also in practical peacebuilding — living out the conviction that following the Prince of Peace requires action.

Research & Reconciliation

We ask hard questions. We listen deeply. We act together. This work takes many forms:

Community Storytelling

sessions that uncover harmful narratives and myths

Dialogue groups

that bring together many different important voices

Workshops and forums

grounded in lived experience, not theory

Academic collaborations

with local universities and peace organizations

magazine

Faith & Society Magazine

A platform for reflection, unity, and theological imagination. Published twice a year, Faith and Society gives voice to Congolese Christians reflecting on reconciliation, justice, and the role of the church. It includes:

  • Essays from theologians, pastors, and writers
  • Stories of peacebuilding from across ethnic and denominational lines
  • Practical resources for churches engaging in healing work

The magazine has become a powerful tool for uniting Christians across DR Congo — reminding us that the church is called to be one body, drawn from every nation, tribe, and tongue.

Campus & Retreats

The Jeremiah Center operates from a restored school campus in Nyankunde — a space once marked by neglect, now reclaimed for peace and purpose. This campus serves as a hub for gatherings, leadership trainings, and spiritual retreats. Here, pastors, scholars, community leaders, and young people come together for rest, renewal, and deep dialogue. Our hope is that this physical space reflects our greater mission: to rebuild what has been broken and create space for lasting peace.

“Before the training, I had the will to help—but not the tools. The Jeremiah Center changed my life and gave me the confidence to guide my community through forgiveness and hope.”
